Local Area Information

Islantilla is a 15 minute drive fron the Spanish town of Ayamonte which is situated on the River Guadiana on the Spanish Portuguese border.

You can fly to Faro in Portugal or Sevilla in Spain. The Islantilla complex is part of Costa De La Luz with 128km of beautiful unspoilt beaches. Nature conservation is of primary importance in this area. There are sand dunes and the hotels are set back from the beaches by an esplanade which can be followed through to La Antilla. Further along, you can park in designated areas amongst the cork trees.

The house and resort offer everything needed for a fantastic family holiday-award winning beaches, pool with shallow area for younger children,child-friendly restaurants, water parks nearby, go-karting and only 40 mins drive from the picturesque Donana National Park. For the golf enthusiast, the house in on the Islantilla Championship golf course, and close to a wide selection of other courses.

Islantilla is ideally situated for the neighbouring towns of Isla Cristina and Ayamonte. Islantilla is a bustling holiday town with excellent bars & restaurants. Fresh fish is a speciality of the area, and fantastic value. Whilst Islantilla and the neighbouring La Antilla are bustling resorts and towns, they remain very Spanish and unspoilt by comparison to Marbella and the Costa Del Sol etc. The beach is spectacular and dotted with 'Chirinquitos' or beach bars serving drinks at very low prices. Islantilla is only 15 minutes from Portugal.There are fantastic views if you follow the River Guadiana further into Andalucia. The area has plenty to offer for both golf enthusiasts and non golfers alike. It is indeed a little part of paradise. The golf course is a Championship 27 hole course which is of the highest quality. It provides a challenging round of golf which can be mused upon while sitting outside with an ice-cold beverage admiring the view of the fifth fairway later that day!
