Isla Canela is a relatively new resort on the outskirts of Ayamonte which is the gateway to the rest of Spain and also Portugal. The complex has everything you will need, mini-markets, shops, restaurants, bars, small ferry boat to isla cristina, beautiful beach, sports complex, 4* hotels one of which (Riu Atlantico) is opposite the apartment block. It is open to non-residents and is well worth a visit for dinner.

Ayamonte is a most attractive Spanish town with numerous shops, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, banks, Saturday market, and has a lovely location nestling at the mouth of the Guadiana River looking across at Vila Real de San Antonio. The Ayamonte-Vila Real San Antonio Ferry takes just 15 minutes but if you prefer to drive then it will take you 10 minutes.

The nearest large town in Spain is Huelva where you can get to by bus or train from Ayamonte. A worthwhile trip is Vila Real San Antonio just a short ferry crossing from Ayamonte. By road it will take you 10 minutes from Ayamonte. Here you will find lots of restaurants and shops selling good quality linen/towels at reasonable prices.

Other places worth a visit are Faro and in particular Tavira within 30 minutes drive, where you can relax at one of the many riverside cafes.
GOLF IS A MUST HERE. Isla Canela enjoys a great location for the golfer with several lovely courses within 5-30 minutes drive. Isla Canela, Costa Ezuri, El Rompido North and El Rompido South. Quinta da Vale and Castro Marim, just across the border in Portugal, Qunita da Riu and Quinta da Cima as well as an Academia course of 9 holes each par 3

This 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment is located on the forth floor (lift available) and has its own private balcony overlooking marina. The apartment is on the cooler side of the building with the morning sun on the balcony. It therefore cools down during the afternoon and evening making it a pleasant temperature during the night time hours. However, there is an adequate supply of fans just in case! With cafe's and bars just a stones throw away, why go anywhere else.
